A very dark brown pour; looks almost black in the glass with reddish hints if seen through light. Gets a quite good amount of frothy head, greyish to brownish, shows quite good retention but not much lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: some malty sweetness with caramel and lighter nutty notes, a delicate note of coffee, a bit of floral hops suggestion; clean aroma, a slight soft feeling, didn't feel especially rich though. Taste notes are a bit different from what the aroma suggested: sweet malty base still there, but caramel feels less strong, with a more vivid nutty component and perhaps hints of dark bread, roasted malts notes switch from coffee to chocolate, perhaps the slightest fruity hint on the back of things. A relatively dry per style finish and aftertaste, quite neutral tastewise, maybe a hint of floral hops. Sweetness and bitterness are both more or less average, with good balance in both taste and aftertaste; overall, a tad more bitter than usual for a tmave. Light to medium body, low to medium carbonation; decently smooth, slightly soft mouthfeel, somehow felt a bit heavier than expected for the abv. Overall: a fine example of the style.

750 ml bottle. Cloudy unclear dark brown reddish with a big stable fluffy foamy head. Toffee, lemon zest, chocolate, roasted malt, dark bread, raisins, some leathery earthy notes. Dry hoppy zesty bitterness, malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty roasty toffee bittersweet finish.
