Tap at Beergeek Bar. Clear golden body, thick ivory head. Enormous, weird, fairly unpleasant aroma - mothballs (naphthalene), something I'd not yet encountered in beer, along with old leather and, indeed, gooseberry underneath that. Sweetish and sharp, fairly disgusting for me, but hey, works as repellant? The taste doesn't pick up, same weird naphthalene/mothball presence with light sweetish-tart gooseberry underneath. Really weird, not attractive to me at all. Something seems to have started going wrong with the keg - maybe fermentation continued in an unusual way, no other explanation really. An acquaintance who said he had it and liked it before had a similar reaction to the aroma... A rare drainpour honestly, and I know these guys do better usually.
