Small batch #19: Session IPA – DDH, Double Dry Hopped 3.5% alc.

This is the fourth Session IPA from the SIPA summer 2022 collection, extremely drinkable and light in alcohol. Double dry-hopped with Slovenian Styrian Dragon and Styrian Wolf hops, plus German Hallertauer Blanc hops in boil.

Fluffy juiciness of biscuit, caramel and grain base, this time with intense floral and fruity aromas (grapefruit, lemon, elderberry and sweet tropical fruits) supported by a good body.

0.5 l bottle, huge thanks to Marko for finding and sharing this with me. Hazy dark orange to amber, medium frothy off-white head. Moderately hoppy, nicely zesty, herbal aromas, bergamot, spicy. Biscuity, gingerbread aroma. Touches of tangerine. Light body, soft texture, bready and biscuity body, some malty sweetness, moderate bitterness, some citrusy tartness. Some ripe fruit there, a touch of soap but mostly good balanced and flavorful for a 3.5. Moderate to high carbonation. Dry and slightly tart hoppy finish. An example of a good use DDH in a light beer.

Bottle from Pomalo ZG. Hazy darker orange-golden body, off-white head, medium retention despite seeming slightly flimsy. Big coconut-citrus in the aroma, soft maltiness, bit grainy. Wolf making itself known. Lean, soft, juicy taste, orange juice with a dash of coconut, bit on the watery side. Watery it is - but it's also 3.5%, great hop profile, clean. Quite drinkable. Very nice job by the Brlog crew!

Bottle, 0.5l. Cloudy copper pour, three finger frothy white head, medium retention. Broken lacing on the glass. Nice in the nose, citruses peel, tropical notes, grass and herbs. Light body, medium carbonation, lively. Watery mouthfeel and texture, fizzy, prickly, lightweight. Balanced bittersweet taste. Citrus aroma, orange peel, grapefruit, peach. Grains, herbal notes, mild spice. Malty backbone. Quite flavorful for the low ABV, pleasant surprise. Short to medium lasting finish, dry, fruity, lingering bitterness. Refreshing.

Bottled 500ml. -from Beershop Zagreb. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, fresh citrusy nose. Sweetish malty, light bready, grapefruity, citrusy and mild caramel with bitter sweet finish. Light DMS touch in traces but nothing significant overall. Not bad.
