7,1% and dry-hopping, says the label. Blonde foamy head. Very soft hoppy, citric aroma, but the flavor comes out with a loud bang, compared to the softness of the aroma. Hoppy, citric and oily at first, but softens up quick in to a not too hopbitter aftertaste. Quite nice. (6 3 7 4 14 = 3.4) Re-rate. Blonde with a touch of orange. Cloudy. Granny Smiths apples and melon in the aroma. Melon, citrus and flowery hops in the flavor. Grapefruit, melon and some hopbitterness in the leathery aftertaste. Complex and thirst quenching ale.

Tasted at a Zythos Bierfestival years ago, this was the original, extra hoppy version of Alvinne Blond. This is when things got interesting with this brewery: this was one of the first ’hops forward’ beers in Belgium, an immediate forerunner to the current Belgian IPAs, so to speak. It was a hazy peach blonde beer with moussy snow white head and a peppery and spicy hop character overlying the fruity esters, yeastiness and malt sweetishness of the basic beer. Still, this first attempt was not well balanced and showed some flaws (I remember a phenolic odour), so let’s say things only got better after this...

Hazy amber beer. Dry soft palate. A bit tart and sour. Hop bitterness with orange citrus peeping through. Finishes soft and frothy with more hop bitterness. Not bad but wouldn’t want loads.

2003 bottle. Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fruity with malt, grass, and some white port. Dry and malty flavour, somewhat oxidized vineous. Bitter and hoppy finish saves the day.

33cl bottle @ Delirium Cafe, Brussels. 2003 Vintage. Pours clear golden with a small creamy white head. Nose is dust, yeast, old, aged hops, citrus. Crisp and dry. Too much mould and cellar unfortunatly.

Hazy orange color, huge cloudy, creamy off-white head, lace. Sour fruity aroma with horseblanket and paper. Fruity (mango, banana), bitter, alcoholic and yeasty flavor. Nice bitterness from the aromatic hops in the aftertaste. Warming too. Lot of yeast in the bottom of the glass.

Muddy, orange body. Off-white, frothy head. Looks a bit dull and unfinished. Moderately sweet aroma. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavour. It even didn’t look dull, it even tastes like, very low carbonated. Is this wort?
