Bottled in '99. A colleague gave me this bottle that had rested in his cupboard for over three years, because he only likes pilsener. Firm frothy head, red amber color. Cherry and mango aroma. Vinous, sweet flavor, a bit sherry-like. Cherry, rosebuds and grenadine. This beer has developed remarkably well. Still full of live and has gained aroma.

(Obviously quite aged - one off) Amber-orange; foxy, creamy head, lacey. More fruity than spicey nose (sloeberry, apricot). Some spices at the end (ginger, coriander). Spicey-bitter taste, piquant even, but nothing over-the-top. Flavours much as from spiced liqueur. Surprisingly little oxidation. Medium bodied and light texture - maybe the only discernible effect of its age. Bitterish-spicey remains in the rather long aftertaste. Interesting beer. Resolutely spicey, but the necessary restraint has been observed. Well worth searching.
