Very sweet. Caramel and a bit of fruit. Sticky. Only drinkable when served very cold after a long mountain bike tour.

Typical Dutch oud bruin, which is a totally different thing from Flemish oud bruin and which would be called brown table beer in Belgium; thin, watery body as expected, stable, off-white head, chestnut colour, irony and caramelly main character with not much else. Industrial, but it serves a certain purpose as a daily, domestic beverage, like the Belgian table beers.

Appearance: Ruby brown color with a tan head. Good lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malty, toffee, some roasted malt and fruity.
Palate: Medium to light body. A bit sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Fruity, bready and caramel malty. Thin texture.
Overall impression: The aroma is quite ok. Just a bit to sweet when I drink it. Otherwise quite ok for its style.
Personal stats: Bottle from Boni in Odijk, Netherlands.

Bottle 30 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear warm reddish brown with a small and lacing beige head. Some burned caramel in the nose. Light body, roasted malts and burned caramel - a little metal as well. Roast in the finish. Not bad. 210210
