500 ml brown bottle, packed in a cardboard cylinder, like a whisky bottle. Bottle No. P 1689, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 11.8%. Very dark reddish brown colour, large tan head. Vinous sweet aroma with notes of raisins, oak, malts, molasses and caramel. The flavour is malty sweet with hints of oak and molasses, surprisingly moderate hops. Too sweet. Not that exciting. Probably better if cellared till 2016?

Bottle. Dark brown colour, a bit muddy. The flavour is sweet, peppery and sllightly fruity. A bit dusty. ABV is well-hidden. Not bad, but a bit green.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, dark orangey brown with an off-white head. Lightly vinous and woody aroma. Quite full-bodied with sweetish, nutty accents and again a touch of wood. Lovely - will probably mature with aging. The Danish Samichlaus.... 281006
