Pours dark brown/near black, nice looking beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee, slight dustiness. Taste follows, good bittersweet balance to it. Near medium bodied, drying. This is very good for £1.30 so will agree with Shoestring. May not be complex but its certainly tasty.

Can from Asda. Black body with a beige head that slowly fades. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and coffee. Flavour of earth and coffee. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Straightforward and pretty good value.

330ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, lactose, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, light oily, chocolate, light liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

330ml can from Asda. Near black in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Sweet milk chocolate aroma with a touch of roastiness. Flavour was very much chocolate driven, with a sweet fondant edge, and some roasted malts in amongst the gentle finish. A light-bodied stout that was fine.

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have obvious coffee notes. Quite bitter. Decent session stout.

Can from ASDA Supermarket, Manchester. Black with an off-white head. Perhaps misnamed, it's not what you would call 'velvet' having a gritty texture and taste. Nevertheless it's fine enough despite not being too flavoursome with its roasted notes.
