33cl can, BB 18/01/2024.

‘Vermont double IPA’, so NEDIPA, by Nanobrasserie l’Ermitage in Brussels; can bought at their shop in the Rue Gheude. Frothy and thick, egg-white, shred-lacing head, hazy ochre-ish-tinged golden robe. Aroma of papaya, rambutan, mango purée, mandarin, cake dough, meringue, Thai basil, jasmin blossoms. Very sultry-tropical onset, sweet honeydew, papaya and mandarin, softly carbonated with a brioche-bready, soft, sweet pale malt core, soaked like a sponge in tropical-fruity hoppiness with a citric edge (again: papaya, mango, rambutan), its aromatic sweetness lingering for a long time, yet still balanced by a citrusy and peppery bitter note in the end. The alcohol remains well hidden. Generous, cleverly made NEDIPA indeed: in spite of the huge tropical sweetness, it remains balanced and focused. Fully delivers – so far I maintain that Ermitage is probably the best of these new wave microbreweries in Brussels (though La Source is a strong contender).
