(swing top bottle) Cloudy, orange colour with a fluffy, almost white foamy head. Yeasty, moderately sweet wheat-malty aroma with notes of banana and citrus and soft clovy phenols. Sweet flavour with a light fruity sourness, light to medium bodied with a lively, almost fizzy carbonation, even for a Hefeweizen. Good wheat-character with a mostly citrousy fruitiness and restrained notes of banana; light-sweet and moderately sour fruity and wheaty finish with only a light clovy touch, which I really appreciate. Surely not a perfect, but still a decent and refreshing Hefeweizen.

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy, orangey golden with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of yeast and phenol. Medium-bodied with a fairly high carbonation and some tart, citric notes. Very dry finish. 131106

Smallish head, which quickly disappears. Orange cloudy body. Carbonation looks unusual, but I’m hard pressed to describe how. Aroma is faint, but promising; basically like a good weizen with a hint of smokiness. The taste is harmonic, but initially weak. Soon a smoky, fruity taste sets in, which subsides, leaving only the smoke. An unusual weizen, interesting, but not really that good. (0.5l bottle, self-poured, at the brewery inn.)

Autsch!
