Draught at the brewpub. Served in a ceramic mug. The flavour is nicely malty, slightly roasted with a touch of smoke. Good mouthfeel, slightly sweet. Well-balanced.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy mahogany colour, creamy head. Roasty malt aroma. Medium dry with soft grainy bready malt, notes of chocolate that slowly slides over into pleasant bitterness. An attractive soft and well balanced dunkel.

Bottled@One Pint Oktoberfest 2007. Deep rubyish brown colour with mediumsized creamy beige head. Leaves good lace. Smokyness and caramel malts in aroma along with some slight dark coffeeish hints. Flavour is quite much the same along with burnt wood and some mild burnt sugar and vanilla.

Bottled@OPP (BB 12/2007)
Very dark ruby-brown color, good creamy beige head, lace. Strong burned malty aroma. Burned malty dark chocolaty flavor. Hops arise in the finish. Toasted malty aftertaste. Well-brewed dunkel, heavier than its Czech equivalents.

On tap at the Roppelt-Keller: Creamy off-white head; odd herbal-medical hoppy nose with an illusion of roasted dark malt in the background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour; roasted malt in the dry bitter finish. O.K., the first impression is a bit unpleasant, all in all a nice franconian Dunkel............
