Orange brown color. Vanilla and citrus in the aroma. Hopbitter flavor (30 EBU: Challenger and East Kent Goldings, the label says) with vanilla and citrus. A touch of yeast. Soft and smooth flavor, but with a firm bitterness and some blackcurrant in the aftertaste.

Commissioned by the Limburgse Biervrienden, with creamy, off-white, irregular but stable head and pure amber colour, near copper, hazy with tiny yeast bits. Strong nutty and caramelly malts in the nose, peach, liquorice (even a very faint saltiness), floral hops, sourish wheat and soap. Neutral onset, dried fruits quickly becoming maltier, nutty, light sourish wheat again, agreeable peppery hop bitterness in the finish but also some alcohol which becomes a little astringent.

Bottled (bottled 10/2006)
Dark amber color, creamy beige head, lace. Fruity aroma (banana). Quite fruity ale - a bit banana and caramel in the flavor, some yeasty notes. Decently hoppy aftertaste. English bitter influences (Challenger and East Kent Goldings used here) are mixed with typical Belgium/Dutch sweetness (sugar added).

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, slightly hazy amber colour with a nice and fairly stable, off-white head. Some caramel in the nose. Light caramelish, roasted malt and a pronounced bitter finish in a medium body. Brewed with no less than 5 malts and 2 hops (Challenger and East Kent). Brewed for the beer society "De Limburgse Biervrienden". 270705

Brewed for the Zythos branch "De Limburgse Biervrienden" Amber-red, hazy beer; good amberish head, leaving fine lace. Nose formed with ambrée malts, cookies - and hops! Some caramel. Roasted, slight bitterish flavour, but much less hoppy than the nose. I detect a lot of restsweetness, and the bitterness in the taste also has a more burnt malt character. Very highly carbonated, medium bodied. Dry. Bit harsh, herbal bitterness (not hoppy) in the aftertaste. Mmmyeahh... I’m used to better from this brewery. The search for bitterness is there, but not the hops I would like to taste.
