Pours mahogany tinged black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with medium retention recedes in sheets. Dark chocolate and espresso aromas. Dry with sweet chocolate and maple syrup, vanilla and lactose upfront turning to espresso in the dry, lasting finish. Becomes cloying and hot over time and as it warms.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Milwaukee. Dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, chocolate, coffee. The taste is chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roast, caramel. Medium bodied. A bit sweet. Solid. 700th imperial stout!

On tap black with a thick n tan bead and sticky lacing. Chocolate and tootsie roll aromas and sweet light roast chocolate flavors. A touch of coffee but under bittered and over sweet...esp for an imperial stout. Dessert sipper maybe

12oz bottle. Brown black body. Creamy beige head, steady. Drinks with a lot of sweetness, more like an Imperial Dunkel or Schwarzbier. The cocoa nibs and coffee combo is decadent, but the malt and hop bill is pretty neutered and tame. A unique, enjoyable beer on some levels...just fails at being an Imperial Stout. OK coffee beer.

12oz bottle-dissipating tan-black. A-roasty/molasses/chocolate/coffee-dk malt. T-follows with some hop bite.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is almost opaque black--dark reddish brown with light source directly behind--with finger-width foamy light brown head with poor retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is milk chocolate, light coffee and roasted malts. Taste is sweet chocolate syrup with a hint of cherry, roasted malts. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and sweet finish. Overall, if you’re looking for a sweet chocolatey treat without much traditional beer taste, this might be for you. Sweet chocolate dominates that there isn’t much else.

Beautiful, big chocolate-coffee nose, roasty and warm, much nicer than the average, lace-deficient pour. But man o man is this thing sweet; lactose hits the palate first, followed by waves of milk chocolate and booze-soaked figs, minor frappucino notes on the back end punctuated by an unexpected banana undertone. Finishes sweet with a mild hoppiness, not nearly enough to offset the saccharine, unnecessarily boozy core. Texture’s thin as well. Hard pass.

Bottle from Bert’s Pours a clear dark brown with faint ruby at the edges and a bubbly frothy tan head that slowly recedes. Aroma and flavor of creamed coffee milk with hints of dark fruit licorice and earth. could use a hint more body IMHO, but pretty tasty as is.
