Hazy, very odd and crazy coloured pure purple coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying and nice tan coloured head that's only a single centimetre tall at first, but fades to just a thin layer a few seconds afterwards, but the purple and crazy body is nice and completely odd for a beer at all! Aroma of mud, earth, lactose, flowers and a bit of spices, but there is definitely a lot of funk and odd notes in here, without any blackcurrant or fruit notes at all, oddly. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich, lactose, cream, milk and grape notes show through without any of the complexity or bitterness of the blackcurrants, but at least some fruits here with a dry herbal flavour from the grapes and a big hit of lactose and creaminess at the end with a lot of alcohol and pungency that's detected throughout. Aftertaste shows some cream and earthy notes with a good deal of dry and grassy fruitiness along with a good deal of sugars (perhaps mainly from the lactose) and a lot of dry and subdued fruit elements at the end that are much more grapey than blackcurrant-y, but they at least show some range. Overall, an odd and pungent beer that starts from the absolutely crazy look here in the glass to a dry and pungent scent, but leaving more complexity at the end from the sugars and alcohol here. Pretty odd, but relatively nice, and even this has nothing at all to do with an 'IPA' in the slightest bit, it's an interesting beer to sample if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Gainesville, Virginia on 06-March-2021 for US$3,29 sampled at my house here in Washington on 04-January-2021, when I got my power back following a small storm here in the city, but that's what having a real house means here in an old neighborhood.

12 ounce can from Total Wine Brookfield, 3/15/21. Pretty much looks like blood. murky, nearly opaque, deep red purple. Large fizzy pink head, good retention. Aroma of currant, lactose, Concord grape. Taste is juicy currant, grape, carrot juice, lactose. Medium bodied, juicy, booze well hidden. Not remotely like an IPA. Good, but I like pretty much anything with currant.
