Tinted ruby-black, Cherry Stout gains its signature tartness from 100% Montmorency cherries grown in Michigan's Traverse City region.
Rather than doubling up on sweetness, this tart cherry varietal serves as a counterpoint to the warm, dark chocolate notes from the malt bill. Lightly hopped for balance, this stout is one of the cornerstones of our stout portfolio.

12 ounce bottle. Opaque black brown pour. Dense dark tan head. Subtle roasted malt nose hints at dark cherries. Roasted malt flavor is quickly enveloped by the bold dark cherry character. Rich and flavorful. Medium bodied. 7% ABV is well hidden.

LCRBM2: coffee and cherry in the aroma. Toffee and cherry in the flavor. Cherry pits. Sticky MF. The flavors are nice, but just don’t mix well.

Pours pitch black with a thin sickly creme head. Aroma of fruited and toasted malt. Taste has dark, dry malt. Palate has tart cherry notes. Drinkable but not great.

The Aromas are mild and straightforward traditional Stout with some natural cherry. Flavors are like nose with some molasses and mineral added I remember this as being better.

Bottle, 12C. Very dark brown with a brown head that's soon at the rim. Almost Baltic porter-like coffee, roast and dark sugars aroma mingled with cherries and balsamic vinegar. Sweet and sour with bitterness that is really just enough to make a finish and leave faint cherries to linger. I like it but 7% seems a bit strong for what it offers.

Bottle, thanks Eddan. Black with a small tan head. On the sweet side with chocolate, dark malt, cherries and some licorice. The body was on the light side. A decent one.

Bottle. A- Roasty, dusty, cherry, chocolate. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Roasty, mild cherry, cocoa, mild tobacco. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- Honestly a touch let down. Not much in terms of cherry either in sourness or general taste at all. Fairly roasty and tastes like a straightforward stout. At 3 months old maybe my bottle just wasn't a standard issue cherry stout. Good for sure, but didn't meet the hype.
