Bottle. Pours opaque black, small brown head, dissipates fairly slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, tobacco, light cherries. Flavor is light sweet, light tart, light bitter. Medium body, light acidity. Very subdued cherry. Meh

12oz bottle picked up at J’s in Owensboro, KY. Poured into a stemmed tulip. Nice dark brown/black color with a thin tan head. Aroma of malts, coffee and slight cherry. Thin on the palate. Taste of chocolate, coffee and malts with a nice amount of bitterness. Clean and tart finish. Almost crisp.

Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma of tartish cherries, roasty malts, licorice and wood. Taste is smooth, slightly roasty and woody with notes of cherries, licorice and dark chocolate. Finish is smooth and sweetish with notes of roasty malts, licorice and cherries. Quite interesting, not as tart or sour as other cherry beers.

Well done for this up and coming style on the trendometer. Enough balanced roast and tart cherry to do both ends of the equation justice. Finishes tart with a touch of astringency. Big smell of roast and some smoke in finish. Tap at Churchkey.

Pours black with a large fading head.Nose shows chocolate, roasted malt and chocolate fudge.Flavours include more chocolate and roast but there’s also an acidity from the cherry along with authentic cherry flavours. Could use more roast.Carbonation feels a bit too lively.

Poured from 355mL bottle. Black with tan head. Roasted malt, coffee, and subtle sweet cherry aroma. Upon tasting it, I get the stout aspects and the cherry aspects, but it doesn’t feel like it blends together that well. Got better as I kept drinking it and it warmed a little, but still something missing. Quite bitter/tart finish. Light-medium body.
