Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roast, chocolate and booze. Medium mouthfeel with light bitterness and chocolate covered cherry flavor with sweet finish. Good.

Bottle thanks to my mother-in-law: Poured a black color with very little bubbly head. Aroma was cherries and chocolate. Taste was all kinds of tart cherries with a dark chocolate hint, but mostly tart cherries.

Bottle @ Timbers, Denver. Thanks to Aaron for this one. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aromo of roasted maltsrich dark chocolate, coffee, sweet and tart cherries. Taste is malts, cherries much more dominabt here than in aroma, sweet and sour / tart cherries, light notes of chocolate aswell. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry lightly sour finish. Nice, but i find the cherries abit to dominant in the flavor. 060312

Jake’s Pub, Chicago bottle ($6): Pours a black color with a small head that disappears quickly and just leaves a viscous blackness. Aroma is quite literally a combination of chocolate and cherries... like a fancy dessert, yeah. Taste is somewhat sweet, but thankfully not too much. Smooth and mellow chocolate combine with a powerful, but again not overpowering, flavor of cherries. These kinds of beers seem to me to be the most difficult to balance, but I believe they did an admirable job here.

Bottle from River City Cellars, Richmond. Dark, cola brown with no head. Black coffee aroma with some fruit sweetness. Flavour of caramel, sour cherries and chocolate, with a dryish finish. Very good.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into an English Pint. Pours black with a half finger of dark tan head. Aroma is mostly sweet chocolate with a small bit of tart cherry. Taste is medium sour and light bitter. Strong tart cherries up front with a nice bitter dark chocolate following. Medium bodied with a slick yet creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, awesome! I would drink it every day if it wasn’t $16 for a 6pack.

Säuerlich würziger Antrunk. Die Malzigkeit ist zwar das wichtigste Aroma, kommt aber kaum über den Hintergrundstatus hinweg. Säuerlich bleibend, von den Kirschen bzw. dem Kirschsaft ist nichts zu erkennen. Im Abgang etwas würziger, die Säuerlichkeit nimmt leicht zu. Wenig harmonisch, die Säuerlichkeit passt kaum zum Stout. Zuletzt malzig-säuerlich. 9/8/9/8/10/8

Received this in trade from sholland119, Thanks for the opportunity to try this one. Pours a solid black with a very little tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Aroma is a subtle dark chocolate and some sour cherries, a bit vinous with a chocolate flair, really nice nose. Taste is tart cherries with a bit of chocolate in the background, but the cherries command your mouths full attention. Its tart in the front, coats your entire mouth in tartness, some bitter roast makes its way through for a couple then your left with a tart cherry aftertaste. Sticky mouthfeel, low carbonation. Very unique brew. I’m not sure I’d seek this one out again, but I’m glad I got to try it.
