Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Has a deep golden-brown color, and a light beige medium head. The aroma is sweet with lots of malt and wood and some cocoa, and feels very rich. The taste has a strong malt feature and with also dried fruit, dark berries, chocolate truffles, oak, leather and fine spice notes. Has a rich, smooth mouthfeel and a light bitterness. A well balanced dobbelbock and is malty and actually quite easy to drink.

0.5l bottle. This is a clear deep dark ruby brown one with a nice medium sized dark beige top. The aroma has a good almost burned caramel sweetness, lots of hazelnut, some traces of alcohol and tones of dark fruits. Smells really classic, and just how I like my dobbelbocks. The mouthfeel on this is soft oily and the carbonation level is about average. Lovely dark malty sweetness in the flavor. Tons of bitter nuts. It has a yeasty thing also, even if I'm pretty sure it's heavy filtered. The burned caramel suits this really nice, and it reminds me of Easter. Something slightly salty has been blended in between all the sweet dark caramel. Did not expect it to be as tasty as this when I saw the bottle. Actually, the Easter vacation starts today! By far the best I've had from Tucher. 22.03.2013

50cl bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Pours a dark honey to chestnut colour with a decent crema head. The nose is of wort - sweet unhopped malty water. There’s also a nutty note and some marmite going on. The taste has honey and malt. The palate is rich, medium to full bodied with a rich finish that is still a little cloying but that said, it’s still balanced enough.

Biggish brown head. Clear deep dark red body. Earthy caramelly raisiny aroma with dusty notes. Dry-sweet plummy raisiny taste with cinnamon notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, soft, slick mouthfeel. Dryish plummy earthy aftertaste with alcohol and soy sauce notes. Buttery cocos, too. Nice, harmonic, clean, and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, Den Gode Nabo, Trondheim.)

Bottle @ home, picked up in KC a long time ago. This baby could be 1.5 years old, so I’ll likely need to re-rate this beer next time I’m hanging in Fürth with Chris Meyer. Pours a deep reddish brown/black appearance with a small tan head. Somewhat dark fruity, plum, fig, creamy caramel, light coffee aroma. A bit thin, a bit tangy flavor. Roasty coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruity flavor. Pretty thin finish. Overall, for the given age, this is tasting pretty decent.

50cl bottle at Vulkan ølfestival. Pours clear brown with a beige head. Malty aroma with roasted notes, dried fruits and a hint of alcohol. Sweet and malty with a mild bitteness in the finish. Ordinary doppelbock, quite ok, but nothing special. (2012-10-03)
