Sampled from bottle. Deep dark red to amber color, small sized, mostly diminishing off-white to beige head. Smell malts, a bit sweet. Taste malts, sweetness, slightly buttery, a hint of caramel. Low to medium body and carbonation.

Pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma of malt, brown sugar, dark fruit, and grain. Taste is sweet caramel malt, toffee, dark fruit, citrus, and a bit of hops. Nice!

The bottle looks really, really good. Beer in the glass the same, quite dark, but not black. Starts strong, fine malty, not too roasty, some hints of caramel and chocolate. Modest earthy. Finish well balanced, warming-malty. Great beer, but could be a bit more intense I think.

Bottle @ Bamberg. Pours dark brown with a creamy thick white head and lacings. Nose is very malty. Dark fruit, caramel and bread. Fig and raisin. Chewy malty flavor with a thick layer of caramel, bread and liquorice. Smooth. Very nice.
