Taster at brewery. Copper colored pour, spotty head with ring. Light smoky aroma. Taste is malty, sweet, smoky. Peat? Not here. Toffee, but that's about it.
Pleasantly smoky, the smoked malt goes really well in this one.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours clear amber with a tight, creamy off-white head. Hearty bready malts in the nose, some toffee, ripe berries, soft hammy smoke. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with traces of vanilla, subtle smoke, candied ham, some berries, caramel. Medium bodied, creamy, with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, with some birch beer flavor, more caramel, rich bread. Novel, decent.
