Duchesse RED is a top-fermented Flanders Red Ale matured in wine oak casks for several months and macerated with cherries. Featuring aromas of fruit with hints of almonds and light sour cherries, the taste is initially sweet and fruity and keeps the balance nicely with a refreshing aftertaste.

Pour at the The Belgian Brewers' Bash in Washington DC. Poured a very smooth, rich red color with a fluffy, dark pink head. Aroma was big cherries, more like cherry candy but without too much sweetness. Cherry skin fruit juice. Almost none of the tartness found in the standard Duchesse. I really liked it though. This beer was marked as a new and different beer from the Cherry Duchesse.
