This stout is rooted in Jamaican culture, it’s a uniquely brewed stout that is dark brown in color, roasty with earthly hints, overall has a full rounded flavour and sweet distinctive taste.

Bottle, best before Apr 4, 2027, drunk Mar 6, 2026.
Smells super estery and phenolic with lots of pepper, anise and possibly DMS and stale coffee ground. Really not excited to take a sip of this!
Thin, sugary (adjunct sugar), estery to the max with a ton of bubble gum and cotton candy. Just an absolute travesty of brewing. I think I had a dragon stout 23 years ago before I knew what craft beer was. Well, this is not it. Just awful, poorly-brewed stuff.

14/12/2025. Bottle from RiteWay Food Market, Road Town, British Virgin Islands. Enjoyed on Marella Discovery 2 during the sea day voyage between Bonaire and Curacao. Pours almost black with a creamy beige head. Rich dark chocolate malt aroma, roasted, with liquorice, and dried fruits. Quite sweet, almost condensed milk like, with moderate roasted bitterness and very slight spiced notes. Full bodied, smooth, gentle carbonation. A nice sweet night cap. Enjoyed it.

Pour is a complete black with a large mocha head. Aroma is sweet toasted malt and dark fruit. Flavor is a semi sweet chocolate malt with a little caramel with no alcohol felt. Finish is sweet chocolate malts. Like eating some semi-sweet morsel chocolate you use for chocolate chip cookies. Tasty and I like the 10oz bottle for this big beer.

Jamaica - what a joy to watch a relative newcomer to the Women’s World Cup go so deep in the tournament. The beer is quite nice - roasty and bitter, a bit earthy, but very balanced and drinkable. Not boozy at all.
