On tap at Beer Street South, pours black with almost no head. Aroma has some perfumey notes from the barrels, followed by dark sugars and booze. Flavour is full of glue and perfumey notes, with rather harsh barrels, wood glue, and dark sugars. Glue-like and perfumey. This is harsh and is not well-calibrated.

Brewery draught, 2024, drunk 8/15/24. Dark, caramel-tinged mahogany. Small, tan head, steadily to ring. Delightful, delightful nose. Oh, does PhillyBeer not like this beer? Then I'm sure to love it, and indeed I do! What's not to like with rich pepper, spice, lead, dark chocolate and light caramel? No booze. A shot of roast followed by charred caramel and vanilla-soaked prune. Oddly enough it's lighter-bodied with some alcohol strength and tons of rich bourbon. With such a rich nose, it is disappointing that the texture is so light and watery.

Pour at de Garde 10th Anniversary. Newar black pour with a thin beige head. Aroma is dark malts, notes of chocolate, brown sugar, drief leaves, pit fruit and tobacco. Taste is a delicious blend of figs and prunes, chocolate, peat, vanilla, oak and leather. Nice full feel and slick body Creamy.

Snallygaster. Pours dark brown. Booze, biscuit, berry, chocolate, bourbon, heavy, lots of toffee and caramel. Medium body. Good.
