Very hazy light golden coloured body that looks like straw and raw honey, with a pretty tall, five centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a long time. Aroma of grass, hay, coriander seed somehow, with a lot of lemons and grapefruit with some alcohol and tropical notes here as well. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich oaty and wheatie notes show at first with a lot of body and some softer citrus fruits near the end that show a little bit of orange, tangerines and even mango, with some aspartamey notes here too. Aftertaste is fairly clean and easy-drinking without much hop bitterness, a pungent richness from the smooth wheatie malts and a little bit of sweetness at the end from the fruits make this easy to go down. Overall, this is strictly new school with a very opaque golden glow, a lot of rich malts and more fruit flavours than alpha acid bitterness and doesn't really seem like it's achieved Imperial Status, but the malts are strong here! Great to sample ultra-fresh and while not my favourite - a good beer for the style and good if you can find it easily! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Laurel, Maryland on 20-July-2022 for US$4,29, arrived into the store on 11-July-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington just seventeen days later on 28-July-2022.
