Tree of Promise is a blended stout and barleywine hybrid featuring threads from our barrel program artfully blended with a fresh barleywine. It contains 60% stout and barleywine aged for over two years in bourbon barrels blended with 40% of a fresh batch of barleywine that has shown caramel forward characteristics. The resulting beer is sublimely complex, with notes of molten toffee, caramel, light chocolate, and uncut bourbon. This beer will age gracefully for years. Enjoy now or well into the future! Cheers!

12 oz bottle shared by tfontana. Thanks Tom. March 2021 vintage. I love the aroma. Reminds me of caramel dipped raisins with toffee. I wish it tasted the way it smells. Perhaps it was held a touch to long?

Bottle (purchased March of 2021) pour from the brewery in Charlton. It's an opaque black with ring of off-white head. Aroma is strong wood, bourbon, toffee, roasted malt and hint of chocolate. Taste is less strong roasted malt, bourbon, caramel/toffee, light chocolate. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, aroma is the star of the show in terms of strength and complexity--taste is more muddled.

Bottle. Pours black. Bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla, chocolate, vanilla wafer, sweet red fruit, sweet vanilla cream, caramel cheesecake, raspberry, cherry, lingering boozy bourbon toffee notes. Good body. Excellent.
