Astraia is our märzen brewed using a traditional double decoction mash. It is brewed using plenty of Munich malt and hopped with German Spalt. After the boil it rests in our copper cools hip for one hour and is then transferred over our baudelot cooler. Astraia undergoes a cool open fermentation using a traditional lager yeast. It is cellared for several months prior to release.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to mug.
Appearance: copper color with an almost some transparency about it; then a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: caramel/toffee malts with some clean bready tones; floral to herbal hops
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together to a nice sweet character; finishes bready and malty
Texture: between light and medium bodied; sessionable; very smooth along the tongue
Overall: another nicely done beer by OEC I would definitely return to.

Can, I have yet again forgot to write down the date, drunk 5/17/22. Lightly hazy, peachy-copper. Dense, small, beige head showing great retention. Peachy-apricot and hints of light toast and strong mineral. Great base malt honey-like character with soft herbs and hints of floral notes. Everything in light quantity, everything elegant. Soft, malty, well-attenuated, big apricot-peach with heavy honey and yet great dryness through the middle. Big earthy mineral. A bit thin on the very end, after warming. Another nitpick, but I feel I have to be very critical of OEC, since they just so seem perfect to me. Clean, malty, not over-hopped, perfectly-textured.
