The Chimay Blue is a dark ale with a powerful aroma. Its complex flavor improves with passing time. The 75-centiliter version (since 1982) is called ''Grande Réserve'' because of its great storage potential., It was first brewed as a Christmas beer by the monks of Scourmont Abbey in 1956. But after its great success, it was decided to offer it permanently.

Thin off white head stayed on a dark brown still body.
Raisins, caramel, toffee & nutty tastes with a fruity berry finish.
Always a Class Act.

Pours a hazy dark brown/red with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malts, yeast, caramel, raisins, brown sugar, sweet toffee, dark fruits. Prickly carbonation. Just a little step up from the excellent Dubbel. Quite nice.

2025 Chimay has finally arrived!! Thank you Delhaize. My favourite part of the start of a new year, new vintage Trappist beers!

Отличное пиво полностью убитое острым вкусом алкоголя, которое разрушает всю структуру и баланс. В отличие от своего красного брата.

330ml bottle (2014) aged in my cellar. Pours a hazed dark brown, medium off-white head. Slightly oxidised which masks the development of flavours somewhat, but not too off-putting, very smooth, mellow caramelised toffee. Pleasant sipper.

330ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany brown with excellent consistent beige head and lacing . Aroma and taste of dark malts, nuts, plum, dark berries, a touch of boozy fruitcake. There is the hint of something vinous which would add another layer if more developed. Temptation always stops me from aging my beers! Medium to full bodied with a nice soft carbonation. This is excellent indeed but I can imagine it being sublime if stored and aged correctly to a sweet spot.
