Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. A bit of fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/grassy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, chocolate, cocoa, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Nicely clean on lager flavors, not too fruity/yeasty. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a nice dark lager. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish Very flavorful for the low ABV. Clean and nicely rich malts, with mild earthy hop balance. A nicely enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Kind of midway between a dunkel and schwarzbier.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a lacing, beige head. Nose has subtle burned caramel. Medium body, very soft on the palate. Again burned caramel, subdued roast, slightly nutty with a hint of cardboard. There's not an awful lot going on here, but it's a decent little drinker in it's own right. 241117

From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color. Bubbly tan head. Mild toasted malt aroma. Sweet caramel-like roasted malt flavor. Some herbal hops. Pleasant malty aftertaste. Decent flavor but lacks complexity.

Bottle. Deep amber color, small white head. Aroma of burnt brown sugar. Taste is similar.

Pours a light brown color, clear, topped with a decent off white head. The aroma is slightly biscuity, roasted malts. The taste is sweet, caramel notes, with little bitterness in the finish. Slightly unpleasant aftertaste, metallic, burnt. Would be very nice without that aftertaste.

12oz Bottle at the Public House inside the Venetian, Las Vegas on 4th July 2014. Slight haze to my brew, no head but very ’fizzy’. I thought this strange and almost interesting, it seemed to have a sour initial taste that became caramel sweet in the finish. My first US brewed black lager (I think).
