Pounder can for 1 buck at JRs. Pours like a muddy brown mess. Sweet candy fruit nose with milk chocolate and a tad of metallic olfactory. First taste is tart berries followed up with some milk chocolate. Can't find the pistachios. Maybe in the middle I'm getting a little vanilla, ice cream and a bit of marshmallow, not sure. Not picking up any alky or beer yet, the other flavors are totally overwhelming my palate. Odd thing is I deplore pastry beers but this stuff is intriguing and something special. Going down pretty easy and I sense now its a little viscous. Yes, tartness is much appreciated and lasting, along with a good level of cutting co2. In the end I think this betters my expectations, it sat in the fridge for a while while I cringed at it every time I opened the door. Finally I said to self - let's get this tick in the bag and over with; and now I'm glad I did. Good job Dewey. Finish is smooth, tart and enjoyable. I never tasted a baked alaska but now maybe I think I should!

Sample at the Roost is a murky ruby grapefruit color with a ring of white head. Nose is pineapple and vanilla and some weird starchy flour. Flavor is really just pineapple and sweet grapefruit and vanilla. At first the starchy thing is gone, but an astringent almond thing comes on the back. Medium bodied, lightly tart finish. Not great.
