Circle of Wolves was brewed with a destination for Four Roses bourbon barrels but we had a touch more beer than barrels, so we decided to keg it off to showcase the base beer as a preview of what's to come. The result is a full bodied, Carmel, toffee, fig, not cloyingly sweet barleywine that we are stoked on. Read Less

Draft of Scott’s Addition location - dark ruby beer - rough and ready rendition - leans closer to traditional British in character - deeply malty, lots of treacle and caramel - some dark fruit - mild bitterness - finish had a slight medicinal character - was hoping for better.

On tap at a Churchkey event, pours an oily brown with some ringing, beige head. Nose is coconut, booze, marzipan, a little almond scone. Flavor is booze, coconut, mild grist. a weird poor coffee cake thing. Boozy and peppery finish.

A lot more roast than most barley wines. Caramel. Pours brown with decent head and lacing. Not overly sweet like Ned Flanders, but has some sugar. Syrupy cloying aftertaste. Tap at Churchkey.
