Bottled(330ml). -Reddish brown coloured, small off-white head, dusty malty nose. Sweet malty, caramel and light alcoholic taste with notes of spices and caramel. Rather sweet finish with notes of nuts in the aftertaste.

Bottle, 6.5%. Sour malt aroma. Muddy brown colour, small creamy head. OK malt flavour, better than the aroma, but not overwhelming. Sewer aftertaste.

Draught Dark, slightly hazy brown with orange highlights; head gone upon drinking; Liquorice, some dark malts and candi sugar in the nose. Pure liqourice, both bitter and sweet components, retronasal more bready. Medium bodied, some slickness and obviously "eating and drinking" alike. Average beer - I just wonder what the idea was?

The trick with these 'de roos' beers, is not to pour the yeast. That's also stated on the bottle. So, leaving the last ml of beer/yeast in the bottle: Hazy nutbrown color, short brown lasting head. Caramel malty aroma, some hops. Sweet taste, soft caramel malts, creamy. Bit watery palate though. Nice easy to drink beer! --- Beer merged from original tick of Rooie Fik on 17 May 2019 at 20:37 - Score: 6
