Only slight maltaroma. Sweetish, malty flavor. hardly any hops present, but orange and some soapiness.

Schaffer Pilsner, 5 %, Flasche vom Markgrafen-Getränkemarkt, Schnaittach. - Die Brauerei Schaffer ist seit 2010 nicht mehr aktiv, Georg Schaffer ist 2017 verstorben, dennoch findet sich in den örtlichen Getränkemärkten noch ein Schaffer Pilsner unbekannter Herkunft. - Blaßgelb, blank. - In der Nase kräftige aber schematische Hopfenherbe, matt zitronig. – Antrunk etwas derb zitronenschalig-herb mit leichter heller Malzsüße. Etwas milder rezent, schlank. Im Abgang derbe Bittere mit Zitrone und Schweineschmalz. - Kräftig aber lieblos gehopftes Pilsner, das sich durch weiche Malzigkeit als fränkisches Bier erweist und damit über den Industriedurchschnitt herausragt. Schön der Spruch auf dem Etikett: „Das Wasser gibt dem Hornvieh Kraft / den Menschen stärkt der Gerstensaft“. Durchaus trinkbar.

33cl bottle. Pours clear golden colour with a mid-sized good lasting white head. Aroma of grainy malt and mild bitter hops. Taste of mild metallic hops, grainy malt, boring but good drinkable.

Das Bier ist sehr schön frisch, dabei leicht säuerlich. Ganz leicht herb. Schön süffig.

Clear yellow colour with a white head. Bittersweet aroma with a subtle caramel and biscuit note. Light bitter flavour with a weak caramel note.

Bottle 33cl. @ home.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grian, hay, toasted, cabbage water, green grass notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090617]

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a thick and bubbling foamy white head. Fresh citrus-fruity and flowery hoppy aroma. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, soft on carbon. Smooth malt-character with flowery and citrus-fruity aroma-hops; moderately dry and floral hoppy finish. Clean and fresh Pilsener (06.X.08).

Bottle (purchased at the Brauerei):Golden, hazy, visible but lazy carbonation, creamy white head; pale-malty and bisquity nose with a good dash of aromatic hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, creamy MF, light bodied; lingering bisquity and hoppy finish with an increasing bitterness towards the very end. Good, smooth rural Pils.......

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, pilsener golden with a white head. Clean, malty nose. Medium body with lightly sweetish notes of malt while the hop profile is very timid. Vague hints of cardboard. 090407
