Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee, some chocolate sweetness; subtle dark chocolate; sweet earthiness, subtle ash
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to semi-roasty quality with a light bitterness underneath; finishes semi-dry with a light ashy tone
Texture: medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; great smoothness with a faint ashy tone acting ever so slightly assertive
Overall: not bad but I bet this would be way better if some of the ashiness was taken out.

Draught @ Beer Karma, Brooklyn (5/23/23). Dark brown with red highlights against the light, spongy tan head, coffee-dark chocolate aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste with dark roasted coffee flavor, some toffee, thin smooth body, long mocha finish. Very smooth and satisfying.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black. Toast, milk chocolate, biscuit, vanilla, roasted nibs. Medium body. Good.

Draught at the source: pours black with beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, some coffee and roast. Taste is sort of bitter and dark chocolate. Not too sweet.

Keg at the Grimm taproom, Brooklyn, 12/04/23. Black with a tan cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is mellow roast, dark fruit rinds, cocoa powder, light charr. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, charr, dark malts, light spice, ashen nip, toffee, hint of smoke, roasted bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent flavoursome stout.

Tap at the brewery in Brooklyn. A clear nutty brown coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is meaty roast earth, grass, tar, ashy roast. Robust. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty peanut, hazelnut, mild earthy roast, hint of caramel. Palate is semi sweet rounded, moderate carbonation. Solid Porter.
