Bottled. Clear orange brown, small head. Somewhat floral nose where roasty, nutty malt takes over almost immediately. Dry and crisp, yet soft. Spicy and roasty, aromatic and intriguing. Complex and flavourful, yet light bodied and very drinkable. A pleasant dunkel full of life.

Bottle: Clear amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, hay, caramel, light yeasty, earth. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and bitter in a good balance, with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Light foxy amber-orange with small, beige head. Caramel, sweet bread (made with eggyolk and sugars) and Maillard, bit of parsley. The caramel is of a specific type; certain chewy bonbons with moccha & tad smoked. Again faintly smoked caramel, bonbons but hardly sweet; even certain bitterness, dark but fresh leaves and a marked carbonation attributing both to flavour and refreshing MF. Warming up, I get some peanut-like flavour, and touches of cacao. Light without being thin, refreshing even. Ends more full. Excellent Dunkel, neither too sweet, neither too thin, full-flavoured. Danke vielmals, Sebastian!

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Soft aroma of roasted malt and overripe fruit. Fairly full-bodied with lots of sweet, roasted malt and fruity notes. Just an adequate amount of hops for balance. 121106

An orange red beer with a fluffy orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of oranges and light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and lighter notes of fruit, leading to a quite lightly bitter end.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Chestnut coloured with a small fluffy off-white head, slowly vanishing; slightly sweet-malty nose with a touch of caramel and a delicate, but distinctive touch of aromatic hops; robust bitter, mainly dry flavour, only a little bit of sweetness in the wings; dry, almost a bit smokey, malty finish with a lingering aromatic bitterness, soft MF. An almost perfect Dunkel in the franconian way......

(swing topp bottle) Dark orange to amber colour with a nice foamy, almost beige head with lace. Noble aroma of dark toasted malt with gentle herbal and slightly floral hops. Bitter flavour with a fine sweet malty taste, medium bodied, well-carbonated, soft mouthfeel, bready taste with caramel; dry and bitter, herbal hoppy finish with a touch of honey. Almost perfectly rounded and balanced Dunkel: Champions League !

Medium fine-bubbled head, dark amber, clear body. Aroma is mostly raisins, with hints of earthiness. Taste is quite powerful and deep, consisting mostly of sweet maltiness and smoky earthiness, with a bitter, dry finish. Something smoky lingers between sips. Overall an unusual dunkel, interesting, and quite good. (0.5l glass mug on tap at the brewery inn.)

Test vom 8.7.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,6,12,6,9,6 - 7,15

Marcipan and chocolate aroma, some sharp edges from coloring malt and bittering hops. Chestnut rown, fluffy head. Chocolate flavors, still some edges, but pleasantly. Hard dry bitterhop finish.
