Bottle 30cl. @ home.Unclear light to medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, light to moderate hoppy, light to moderate yeasty, flour apple puree notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Fresh. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090304]

Bottle. An almost clear, yellowish golden beer with a decent white head. Soem pale malts and a pleasant fruityness in the aroma. Rather boring, but not flawed. Grainy, fruity and slightly sweet flavor. The finish has a decent bitterness. Medium body, quite dry-feeling. The beer is a bit boring. Nothing wrong with it, except it lacks a bit on everything. Bottled (CK). Hazy orange color, no head. Very lively bottle. Lemon, wheat and coriander in the nose. Crisp carbonated mouthfeel. Lemony, dish cleanser -like flavor, despite of "purity law", also coriander notes. Kind of plastic. Kölsch? More like witbier.

Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Hazy yellowish golden colour with mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is spices, yeast, fruits and quite strong bitterness on the hops. Flavour is fruity, yeasty, caramelly and slightly grassy. Quite spicy and bitter fruity finish and aftertaste. Nice and very refreshing.

On tap @ the brewery. Beautiful slightly hazy bright golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, soft malts. Flavour is slightly malty, yeast, hoppy freshness, bit fruity. Soft mouthfeel. Very, very nice beer. More like Christoffel Blond (less bitter though) than a Kölsch.

Bottle, 5%. Fresh citric, grassy hop aroma. Hazy yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is quite refreshing, OK citric, hint of yeast and the same hoppiness as the aroma. Cleansing bitterness.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a short frothy white layer. Lemon-fruity and spicy aroma with notes of vanilla and coriander (?), although they state on the label, that it is brewed according to the Bavarian purity law. Malt-accented, citrus-fruity taste with a herbal background, medium to light bodied with a crispy carbonated mouthfeel; lasting fruity and bitter hoppy and spicy finish. The back label says it is a Kölsch…well, it is not, but it is better than many Kölsch I had so far.

(I drank this beer under the name of Hanze Goudblond - same brewery, same ABV, same style - only the brewery calls this "Kölsch") Slightly hazy orange-yellow; thick luxurious broken white head. Chalk, grassy nose, with crystal malt and faint orange. Kölsch?? this tastes like a bitter/best bitter if anything, English hops and crystal malt included. Quite malty, actually. Touch of acidity, probably due to carbonation. Good Champenoise carbonation. Appropriately light bodied. A good light ale. Whether Kölsh, bitter or Belgian ale, who cares? Rating for Alias Texel Embassy Ale: Explosive gushing to orange-gold beer with slim (!) off-white head. Parsley or fresh chervil aroma, and good hops. Bit of cookie, pie (crust) -like taste. Nice. Some herbal flavour as well, and quite yeasty. Finish is brown sugar & coriander. Medium bodied, slick, silghtly burning aftertaste. Excellent for an only 5% ABV beer. Flavourfull, good bodied. Not a session beer, however.
