Das erste Dortmunder Exportbier – angenehm malzig, vollmundig und dennoch mild im Geschmack. Ein ursprünglicher Genuss von hier. Dortmunder KRONEN Export. Aus dem Herzen Dortmunds und der ältesten Brauerei Westfalens.

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a foamy white medium lacy head. Malty aroma, slightly grainy with wet straw and a herbal hoppy tinge. Bittersweet flavour, almost medium bodied, crispy mouthfeel. Light-sweet malty start, moderately hoppy (for an Export) and bitter finish. This one was already a classic during my school-days in Dortmund. It´s the favourite macro of my younger sister, pivnizub swears on it and Robert (dortmunder) liked it even more.

Bottle: Golden coloured, thin, but lasting white head; clear malty and grainy nose, shy notes of grassy hoppiness;slightly sweet flavour, moderate malty taste; medium bodied, very smooth; ends in a light, longer bitter aftertaste. A goodie......

A yellow beer with a fine head. Both the aroma and the flavor is sweet malty, an average pilsener.

Upon a few resamples (it's a regular here in Ontario), this honestly doesn't bring quite the maltiness it did a few years ago. Though it is a good example, it is not as robust as Union Export, Great Lakes or Egger Naturgold. Bloody hard to actually find the stuff in Dortmund, for some bizarre reason. You can't even get it at the brewery's restaurant, Kronen am Markt, though they make the complex, delicious Kronen Urtyp Hell there.
