Cologne's fiercely guarded Kolsch is the perfect anathema to today's anaemic, mass-manufactured lagers of indistinction. Light, crisp & endlessly refreshing, this Kolsch style Lager proves that less can indeed be more.

Can from the brewery’s online shop. Clear golden body with a white head that quickly fades. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of raw potato, broccoli and white bread. Flavour of plain crisps and grassy, bitter hops. Thin body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. The lack of head and lacing could be improved but the aroma and flavour is good.

Can at home. It pours hazy golden - blonde with a bubbly white cap. The aroma is soft soft, sweet, doughy white bread, rich tea biscuits, damp grass, straw, rich tea biscuits and some custard creams. The taste is quite soft, green, grassy, floral, floury, rich tea biscuits, custard creams, lemon curd, doughy bread and some orchard fruits with a dry finish. Medium body and fine+ carbonation. Quite nice stuff.
