Can from Great Grog. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. No visible. Faint lacing. Aroma of papery malt and orange peel. Flavour of melon rind and grain. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. I wanted to like this but it’s not great.

Keg at Casc, Aberdeen. It pours ever so slightly hazy deep golden with little evidence of a head. The aroma is oily, sappy, sticky, resinous, ripe citrus, grapefruit, touch of marmalade, green herbal accents and some meatiness. The taste is slick, oily, sappy, resinous, green, herbal, grassy, bitter - sweet, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, bitter waxy rind and some prickly peppery spice with a dry, toothy finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and fairly heavy mouth feel. Sits a bit heavy and oily for the style. Ho hum. Hopefully Speyside can step up from what feels like quite a disappointing relaunch....
