Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown with some amber chinks around the bottom. Creamy texture to the head and it's beige to tan. Nose - malt loaf, light toffee and brown bread generally. Taste - creamy caramel and toffee with brown bread. Some raisins lurking. Palate - creamy in texture with a medium body and a roasty, dry finish. Overall - good beery stuff!

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours deep/darkest red - brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is soft, toothy, nutty, brown bread, caramel, dried fruits, fruit cake and a touch of toasty brown sugars. The taste is initially dry, bitter - sweet, toasty grain, brown bread, wood, earthy, nutty, dried fruits, fruit cake, leather and some toasty spice with a dry/bitter woody finish. Average body and moderate foamy carbonation. Nice dunkel. Flavourful for the style.
