The IPA is represented by our friend the Ghillie Dhu. A wild tree sprite and guardian of the forest the Ghillie Dhu was said to live in birch woods, close to Loch a Druing in the Gairloch area of the north-west Highlands of Scotland. A kindly spirit, for the most part, one story tells how he helped a local girl, Jessie Macrae, who had lost her way in the woods one night, leading her home to safety.
