Buckie. Wreck the hoose juice. A bottle of tonic. There are many names for the cultural phenomenon that inspired our latest high vaultage beer, but we’ve settled on Sesh Sour. A literal sour for the sesh with familiar aromas of sweet, dark stewed fruits and cough medicine, conditioned on juicy blackberries for a big flavour, and a big night.

440ml can. Pours hazy deep purple with a small head. Aroma is sticky, sour, blackberry, blackcurrant and cough syrup. Taste has cakey blackberry and cough syrup with a sour finish. Sticky mouthfeel.

It pours cloudy muddy purple with a frothy off - white head. The aroma is sweet - sweet, tangy, medicinal, cough syrup, vimto, blackberry, cherry, blueberry, purple chewits, jammy, toffee, victoria sponge cake and fruit pudding. The taste is smooth, sweet - sour, very jammy, tangy, super fruity, cherry, blackcurrant, bramble, victoria sponge, sour candy, nip of acidity, medicinal, cough syrup, fizzy sour cand, purple chewits and a slap of booze with a tangy jammy berry finish. Medium+ body and average carbonation. Perhaps a touch more sweet than I would like. As someone who has partaken in Buckie a good number of times I think this beer does it justice. Fun stuff.
