Keg at Smugglers.Tavern, Fitzrovia. Opaque dark cola brown. Thick foamy beige head. Aroma has chocolate and malts - basic but nice. Flavourwise it's low key but not unpleasant Similar to any macro stout really - malta softness, albeit with a good drop of chocolate. Into the finish we get espresso and berries. Light-medium bodied. Flat carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Slips down... has some character in there.

6/11/2025. Draft at The Arcade Street Tavern, Ipswich. Photo featuring Eva, a dog from Bulgaria with a Romanian passport in an English bar admiring an Irish beer. All a little more exciting than the beer itself but it’s been years since I saw a Beamish so had to indulge. Milky, chocolatey, coffee, lightly roasted, slightly ashy. Smooth. Very mild bitterness. Hint of coconut. Likeable.

On tap at Sin É, Cork. Dark amber, creamy beige head. Roasty aroma, light coffee, light burnt toast, light fruit and caramel. Flavour is roasty, nutty, coffee, caramel, slightly bitter with a dry finish. Smooth, medium body, soft carbonation, drinkable, abrupt finish. A bit heavier and fuller than Guinness and Murphys with coffee and nutty flavour more pronounced.

draught...can. Pours incredibly dark. Nice head, a very faint but noticeable flavor of chox & coff and malts. A bit sweeter than the guiness/archetype, but really good nonetheless.

Nitro tap at O’Reilly’s.
