Discovery is not an apple that is usually associated with cider making. However, it makes a light, refreshing drink. It has very little tannin, hence its light and easy taste. Sadly the juice loses its pink colour through the fermenting process.

500ml bottle I'm told was purchased from some local food festival here in Gloucestershire; apparently Mum used some of it in cooking, so now I'm drinking the remainder of the bottle. Pours a crystal clear orangey gold with no head. Aroma of sweet apple juice, mild tannin. Taste is also remarkably like apple juice, fairly sweet with only mild tannin character, some skins and subtle woody notes, got drier in the finish but still sweet overall. Rare for me to drink cider but really enjoyed this sweet one.
