Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 18B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch HPA04/20 (BBF 05/2021). AROMA: medium to medium-low hop aroma with a somewhat herbal character, starting to show oxidation notes (isovaleric). medium-low estery background (ripe-oranges) mixed with a phenolic plastic character. slightly sweet and neutral malt background. APPEARANCE: deep gold color and clear. medium-large off-white head with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium-low hop notes with a herbaceous profile, medium-low fruity esters (ripe oranges) and medium-low phenolics (plastic). low cereal husk presence. very high bitterness with an overly dry and bitter finish. harsh. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium carbonation. astringency from harsh bitterness. OVERALL: a pale ale with distracting execution problems and a harsh bitterness.
