Tasting at Matt's, corked bottle; vintage 2013
Blond colour, dull (probably the aging). Aroma of wax, spirit, old wood. Sweet, good body, not thick; vanilla (oak barrel?), a bit of wax, but overall it's a well done straight mead.

375ml shared with Phill and the gang @ Matt's (thx for the bottle, man!) new place. Appearance: clear golden. Aroma: honey, some booze, fermented honey. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: quite sophisticated and elegant.

Pours yellow-gold. Aroma has honey and slight herbal notes; a bit of spice. Flavour has light honey and earthy, herbal spices. Mouthfeel is smooth and gentle. Fantastic.

2013 vintage (apparently). 375mL bottle, pours a clear golden. Aroma is full of intense oak, followed by lots of complex wildflower honey, and a hint of earthiness. Flavour is medium-sweet for a mead, with wildflower honey, plenty of oak, floral notes, and some booze. Frankly, I think this one is overrated. Pleasant honey character, but not particularly complex; and the oak doesn't really elevate this that much. Good, but far from an elite mead.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2013 vintage). Clear yellow gold with no head. Soft floral honey, light-medium body. Okay, but wouldn't put in the top 50.

(Bottle sample at Medovinárna, Prague, 19 July 2023) Pale golden colour, no head. Fruity nose with honey, flowers, birch leaves and oak wood. Fruity, sweet taste with notes of honey, flowers, oak wood and spices. Medium body, sweet. A bit sticky, but really rich, harmonious and well balanced. Great mead!
