Near black pour with a lingering tan head. It smells of dark roast malt, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor balances malty sweetness with dark roast and hops bitterness in a robust brew. Very tasty.

Can: Dark, oily black with a thin, dark tan head. Smoky, burned coffee aoma. Taste is charred coffee malt, ash....pronounced bitterness.....over-cooked coffee flavour to it, but it worked for me. Body runs a little light compared to the amount of flavour. If you don't want a hint of sweetness in your porter, this one fits the bill. Very enjoyable.
