440ml can. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, tan head. Smoky and slightly chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of smoked ham, milk chocolate, some caramel, fruity overtones with hints of plum and cherry, very cautious peaty and TCP aspects. Taste is dry, slightly fruity hoppy, smoky, slightly chocolately, dark and caramel malty, hints of smoked ham, milk chocolate, dark caramel, a touch of plum and cherry, very light, earthy, damp, mineral aspects, peat. Dissolved sugar enriched, minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively hop accentuated, mild smokiness, not too heavy look-and-feel - good.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 12/03/22. Black with a tan covering that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is roast malts, fruit cake, liquorice, spice, molasses, leather. Taste comprises chocolate, brown sugar melt, fruit cake, spice, toffee, molasses, earthy roast. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid Baltick.

Can from St Albans beer shop, St Albans, Herts. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, smokey, bacon/meaty, caramel taste and aroma. Slightly sweet and quite rich. Very nice baltic porter indeed.

Can at home picked up from Beer shop St albans. A clear dark brown coloured pour with a lasting mid tan frothy head. Aroma is semi sweet, smoked sausage, rauchmalts, sticky caramel brown sugars, pinch of salt, roast, dried fruits. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, singed toffee apple, mellow smoked malts, pinch of salt, burnt sugars, burnt fruit cake ends. Palate is medium sweet, sticky, mellow cardbonation. Not bad. Hides the alcohol pretty well.
