A Smoked Imperial Breakfast Stout with coffee, chocolate and maple syrup. Smoke fills the mouth, like standing in front of an open fire on a cold morning...the coffee bursts in with dark chocolate in abundance....next comes the sweet maple syrup, rich and deep...hair of the dog never felt this good...

Panda courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin! Black colour, thin beige rim and aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, maple syrup. Taste is sweet, roasty malt, chocolate, coffee, maple syrup notes, booze, with earthy bitterness. Full bodied, low carbonation, boozy roasty bitter finish. Nicely sippable.

Can at home, from an online whom I can't recall, 24/03/24. Pitch black with a khaki cap that thins to a spiders web swirl. Nose is coffee grinds, charr, maple syrup, mellow roast, cacao nibs, molasses, nip of alcohol. Taste comprises roast malts, ashen nip, coffee grinds, charr, dried fruits, dark chocolate shavings, light spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Tidy impy stout ... good bitter coffee and roast presence ... never runs sweet.

10 November 2023. At Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Thanks to tderoeck for sharing today's beers - cheers to so many more!
Hazy black. Maple syrup, hazelnut, almond, brownie. Sweet maple, early booze, fondant, mocha. Peppery hops, maple, boozy coffee liqueur-like alcohol. Medium body. Too boozy early on, alas.

330ml can. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, frothy, fading, tan head. Roasty, dark malty and minimally smoky aroma, notes of maple syrup, hints of chocolate, honey, coffee. Taste is sweet-ish and roasty, dark malty, somehow herbal, notes of maple syrup, hints of honey, coffee, some alcoholic bitterness, a minimally smoky touch; warming, alcoholic finish, slight Genever touch overall. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, medium, soft carbonation. Disharmonious, boozy - not convincing.

200ml draught at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Kindly shared by Finn. Filmy layer, dotted spots on the glass, near-black body. Smoothly roasted chocolate on the nose. Flavoured with grainy chocolate, mid-sweet. Coffee-chocolate ending, roasted and rather sweet. Pleasing. (Tromsø, 10.01.2024).
