650ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, superbly lacing, tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of liquorice, fruity hints of dark berries, a touch of paper ashes. Taste is minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, notes of chocolate, treacle, liquorice, dark berries; oily texture, smooth, soft and silky palate. Wow!

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Black with short lasting bit fizzy light brown head. Dried apple, plums, licorice, brown sugar, dark chocolate, some herbal and grassy notes with a light mineral touch. Over medium sweet and light mineral bitter. Medium bodied with slick feel and soft carbonation.

Bottle: Literally black, no doubt, smaller - very stable - creamy tanned head; distinctive nose of sweet dried dried dark berries, caramel, vanilla and toasted malt; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, soft and medium to full bodied; lingering and pretty smooth fruity abd toasty finish. Good, good stuff…

65cl bottle at Sandar Haandverksbryggeri - Brygghuset, Sandefjord. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Mild roasty and quite fruity, some chocolate and wooden notes. Tasty stuff with nice winter waing qualities.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a two centimetre tall brown head and about 90% opacity. Aroma of grain, roasted malt, oatmeal, figs, raisins, prunes, alcohol and a touch of coffee - nice. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavour coupled with some prunes and caramelised sugars along with a light earthy flavour, some hazlenuts and a tiny bit of mushroom qualities near the end. Aftertaste shows more of a sweet flavour, some soy sauce elements still remain, but the alcohol is evident along with a touch of the coffee. Overall, a good beer with plenty of complexity, but that complexity ends more with a traditional porter less of the baltic variety, like perhaps the best ever - Zywiec Porter.. Great to sample and not a bad version of the style, but try the real Polish beers for the best. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 10-March-2015 for US$8,31 sampled at home in Washington on 15-November-2015.
