A kettle sour which is double dry hopped to give it a tropical and floral aroma, juicy flavor and a light body. Dry, proper sour, and citrusy finish. Collab with our friends at La Quince.

lattina 33 cl, schiuma bianca grana grossa evanescente, color giallo limone torbido, al naso agrumi frutta tropicale, in bocca spicca subito l’intenso acido poi aranciata amara agrumi limone, carbonazione moderata, corpo leggero, astringente e acida, asciutta, nel finale ti rimane un amaro e acido molto lungo. Molto buona e particolare c. Bottega della birra Arona 09.11.19

Sour fruit IPA (apricot in this case) made at Brewski with the collaboration of Spain’s La Quince; can at Kantien in Ghent. Egg-white, mousy, large-bubbled but loosely knit and quickly breaking head eventually dissolving into practically nothing, cloudy straw blonde robe with warmer peachy tinge. Aroma of lime juice, spring onions, green apple, withered leek, pickled silverskin onions, herb cheese, touch of paprika powder, old dried chives, unripe peach more than any apricot, cucumber. Sharply fizzy onset, numbing, but still very refreshing, crisply sour with notes of lime, pomelo and green banana as well as Granny Smith apple and green plum, wheaty and ‘sourdoughy’, bready middle, lime-like fruity sourness coming up strong and almost certainly resulting from the added apricots, though I still fail to find any true apricot flavor. Ends with citrus peel-like, leek-like, oniony and herbal hoppiness, a tad cheesy already due to aging, but adding a leafy bitter note in the end that in this case does not clash too much with the sourness. Dry, bit astringent and powdery ending, again without any real apricot, though I’m sure the ‘green’, crisp and sour fruitiness stretching throughout this beer is the result of the added apricots so I guess it made sense to add them after all. Enjoyable, even if I’m still struggling a bit with the hoppy kettle sours described as ‘sour IPA’ these days.

Hazy, yellowish, with a thin head. This smells our with a big citric acid note. Quite tart, very orangey. I like this.

330mL can, pours a cloudy peachy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto upfront, with some rotting notes, and dry hops. Flavour is lacto-y, with dry hops, sour pithy fruits, and lacto. Not a skilled brew -- messy and uncoordinated. Meh.
